Login & account recovery
Find the correct Setlog account before creating another one
Use this guide when a new phone shows different sign-in choices, a deleted passkey blocks access, Setlog opens an empty profile, or the old account still appears in a full group.
Start here
A Setlog account is identified by its original authentication path, not just the visible email address
Google sign-in, Apple sign-in, an email code, and a passkey can represent different account entrances. Entering the same Gmail address through another button may open a blank profile instead of the account that contains your friends and groups. Before changing anything, confirm the original method and protect any device that can still open the correct account.
Identify the original sign-in method
Write down whether the old Setlog account opened through Google, Apple, an email code, a passkey, or another button. An email address that looks the same does not guarantee that two sign-in buttons lead to the same account.
Stop when Setlog asks for a new name
A first-name or profile setup screen can mean that the current path is creating a new profile. Do not finish it until the old display name, friends, groups, or logs appear.
Keep the old device signed in
If the old phone still opens the original account, do not sign out, delete Setlog, reset the phone, or remove its sign-in credential. That device is the best evidence of which account and login path were used.
Compare account evidence, not only the home screen
A successful login should restore recognizable details. Check the old display name, one known friend, and one group. A blank account is not a successful transfer just because Setlog opens.
Match the visible result
Four account problems that look similar but need different next steps
A passkey was deleted before changing phones
Deleting a passkey removes a credential stored by the device or account manager; it does not prove that the Setlog account itself was deleted. Look for another sign-in method already linked to the original account. Do not create several replacement profiles while testing. If no original method remains, account ownership must be checked through the support route shown by Setlog because SetlogHub cannot restore credentials.
The new phone opens an empty Setlog account
Record which button was used, then stop profile setup. Compare it with the old phone. If the old account used Google sign-in and the new attempt used a typed email code, those can be different authentication paths even when the visible address is identical. Sign out only after you know which path created the empty profile and can still access the original device.
The old account still occupies a full group
Do not ask the group owner to remove every member or rebuild the group first. Confirm whether the old profile is still visible as a separate member and whether the new blank account joined again. Keep screenshots with names and codes hidden. Recovering the original account is safer than adding another account to a group that has reached its member limit.
The old social sign-in button is missing
Compare the Setlog version, phone operating system, store region, and every option visible on the start screen. Do not assume that email, Apple, Google, and passkey buttons are interchangeable. If the original provider is absent, keep the old device available and record the missing option before contacting the account support route displayed in the app or store listing.
Safe recovery order
Keep evidence before you sign out, delete, or rebuild a group
On the old phone, record the Setlog version, visible sign-in method, display name, and one known group. On the new phone, record every available sign-in option and the first screen where the result differs. Hide personal names and group codes. Then try only the original authentication path. If it is absent or fails, use the support route displayed by Setlog with those facts, without sending secret credentials.
Setlog login FAQ
Does deleting a passkey delete my Setlog account?
Not necessarily. It can remove only the device credential used to sign in. The Setlog account may still exist, but you need another authentication method linked to that original account or account-recovery support.
Why did Setlog ask for my first and last name after login?
That screen can indicate a new-profile setup path. Stop before completing it and verify whether you selected the same sign-in method used by the original account.
Can the same email address open two different Setlog profiles?
It may happen when the address is used through different authentication routes, such as Google sign-in versus a typed email-code path. Judge the result by the restored profile, friends, and groups.
Should I delete the empty account immediately?
First record how it was created and confirm that the original account is still accessible. Deleting the wrong profile or signing out of the old device can remove useful recovery evidence.
What can I safely send in a help request?
Send the device, OS, Setlog version, visible sign-in choices, the step where the account became empty, and the exact error text. Never send a password, one-time code, passkey, full phone number, or group code.
